I made a solid platform from welded steel profiles to allow the Klaiber to be carried by a manual pallet truck. I left some images just for others inspiration 😄.
One of the jobs done this summer is a special square intended to facilitate the alignment of the grinder axis. I own a Klaiber WSII tool grinder. This grinder has a head with several degrees of freedom and aligning it to the table is not easy given the poor quality of the head scales. Thus, I decided to build a particular square that fits in the head nose and offers a reference plane to test with the indicator or the protractor, for instance.
Which are the collets that uses the Klaiber WS2 tool grinder? I found the answer few days ago while looking at ebay.de. A seller was offering a Klaiber grinder. In the machine pictures there was this one:
It is a 6mm collet for the klaiber. The picture has the answer!! Klaiber collets are of type 317E. It was a non usual collet size. I have not found any provider offering it.
I found somewhere the user manual of the Klaiber WS2 and some brochures. Here they are:
Klaiber WS IIa manual (in German) Klaiber WS IIa (mit Automatik) brochure Klaiber WS IIa, examples of use
A new guest The garage has a new guest. It is a small universal tool grinder. A Klaiber WS2 maybe of the last models built by Lechler. Below, there are some pictures. As you can see the overall state is good. Finishing is original. I only appreciated a very slight wear in the table lineal bearings. You guess it: the table of this machine is supported by lineal bearings. I think this is not very usual on Klaiber machines.
