The last step in rebuilding the Schaublin 13 has focused in th
electrical cabinet and wiring. The machine has been adapted to
ordinary 230V monophasic mains by using VFD’s and all the control
circuits have been assumed by the same VFD’s.
In the way of renovate the Schaublin 13, it is time to manage the lamp
support and its connection. Lamp is attached to the side of the
machine and, in the interior, a small junction box would be
desirable. I tailored a made-to-size box of steel sheet.
One of my projects this summer was to finish the cabinet for the
Wörner B13 drill press. The work mainly consisted of cladding the
steel support frame with MDF. The ultimate goal was to prepare it for
the electrical wiring and a set of drawers to organize the machine’s
tooling.
An old Waldmann WD 306 luminaire is added to the Boley Leinen
lathe. The luminaire is nowadays old but it is still a very good
design. Can be found at a reasonable price and, after servicing it,
make a very good value for money.
Altivar 312The lathe comes with an classical electromechanical wiring. It has an original Bauknecht 2 Kw and 3 speeds motor (720, 1450, 2880 rpm) . It was originally a 3 phase 220 V motor that in some moment was rewound to 380V. It has two speeds in a dahlander winding and an additional speed in an ordinary winding. Note how big and sturdy is the motor enclosure because of the number of speeds:
