Schaublin 13: junction box

In the way of renovate the Schaublin 13, it is time to manage the lamp support and its connection. Lamp is attached to the side of the machine and, in the interior, a small junction box would be desirable. I tailored a made-to-size box of steel sheet.

I made a solid platform from welded steel profiles to allow the Klaiber to be carried by a manual pallet truck. I left some images just for others inspiration 😄.

Wörner B13 cabinet (I)

The first work we do is a specific cabinet to support the drill press, to protect the electrical wiring and, to store the drill tooling. The cabinet structure is maid from steel L profile of 50mm conveniently welded. It is mounted on machine feet ans designed to be moved by using the palet jack. Below you will find some pictures of the structure and the drill press being moved on its top.

Review the two speed reduction gearbox

The Leinen lathe comes with a two speed 1:1/1:8 reduction gearbox that can be operated while the machine is running. It works by using a multiple disks oil bath clutch. We disassembled the gearbox to check its condition. The reduction has a very thick deposit of oil after years without maintenance. Disks are in good condition and shaft seals are a bit worn. The following image shows the reduction set of parts after unassembling it.
